I'm using a Bluetooth 5 dongle plugged into a USB port that's pretty close to line-of-site to the Speed Editor keyboard over a distance of about 5 feet, and it's working great.

Or you could spend $20.00 and buy a Bluetooth dongle to plug into whatever port is physically closest to the keyboard.Īlso note that your system needs Bluetooth 4 or later capability.

You could try moving the Speed Editor as close as possible to wherever you think the Bluetooth antenna is on your system and see if that improves the behaviour. So if you're on the latest Resolve version (17.2.2) and the latest Speed Editor firmware (1.4) and are still having issues, I urge you to look into the possibility of a poor RF connection. It all works great.įor those that are still having issues, I've seen numerous posts now where flaky behaviour has been attributed to a poor radio frequency link between the keyboard and the system, and has been fixed by attaching a WiFi antenna to the motherboard (some of which apparently use that antenna for Bluetooth as well), by adding a Bluetooth USB dongle to the system, or by moving an existing Bluetooth dongle from a rear USB port to a front port that's in closer proximity to the keyboard. Bit gobsmacked this does not exist already. New to DaVinci Resolve and awaiting delivery of a Speed Editor. Third, a Speed Editor equivalent of the keyboard up/down arrow keys for jumping to the previous/next edit.I just removed the Speed Editor from my list of Bluetooth devices, ran the 17.2.2 installation, ran the Blackmagic Control Panels app with the Speed Editor connected via USB, updated the Speed Editor to firmware version 1.4, and re-paired the Speed Editor with Windows. Resolve 17.4.6-b4 / resolve 18.0B-b10 / fusion studio ti drivers 512.59 studio. Also, a way to switch transitions between "start on edit," "center on edit," and "end on edit." Brownie points if there's a way to change sound transitions from "+3db" to "0db" to "-3db." I do this fairly often, and it requires multiple mouse clicks to navigate through Resolve preferences. Second, less urgent, request: a way to change standard transition duration using Speed Editor on the edit page (this can currently be done only on the cut page). I'm constantly switching between these two modes, and the fact that this currently requires my hands to leave the Speed Editor and move to the keyboard makes it impossible for me to rely on the Speed Editor for basic cutting. My #1 request would be for some way to switch between "select mode" and "trim edit mode" (as far as I know this is not currently possible using the Speed Editor, I'd love it if someone could show me I'm wrong). Since I work primarily on the Edit page, I'd dearly like the ability to remap at least some of the Speed Editor buttons.
